Be part of the Birchwood Hotel Family Fun Run day on the 3rd of April 2011, this much anticipated and fun filled day for families will be one of a kind and stylish. The Birchwood Hotel in association with Tempest car hire will be promoting this family get together, healthy living and lots more activities on the day. There will be plenty of entertainment and ideal picnic space in the gardens for families participating with kids. Get ready to take part in the following distance races: 8km which will mostly attract semi-professional and professional runners or 5km for those who enjoy fun running and lastly 1km run for kiddies! This is one for all the family members.
The culture of family spirit is running through the Birchwood veins and now it’s being rubbed off on to South Africans who would like to take part in our inaugural family fun run. The event is the dress rehearsal for the big event in 2012 which will see the race accommodating a 21km run with big prizes for athletes.
After hosting the International Football Village successfully from June to July 2010 during the FIFA world cup, the Birchwood is finally ready to host yet another annual event to afford patrons and our loyal guests and clients to mix and mingle in a sporting environment. Birchwood gardens lend themselves perfectly to picnicking while the Phomolong grill area will braai up hamburgers, boerewors and prego rolls, and a host of other yummy treats will be available. A live band will entertain under the marquee and there is also a beach volley ball court and 5-a-side soccer field for those still have more energy to spare! We encourage families and friends to bring their non runners to cheer them on while competing in the different races.
Entrance for the fun run is only R20 per adult and R10 for kiddies but entrance to the hotel is not limited to running participants only. Bring your family, blanket and umbrella and enjoy a tranquil day at Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre, Viewpoint Road Bartlett, Boksburg.
